Leather??? Excuse me....more like Pleather or worse...!!

As I see this online product I purchased Mac Motion Leather Recliner touting "Saddle Leather" as displayed and described as supple saddle "top-grade leather" I sit here looking at my just delivered Mac Motion Chair....and as I pull the pieces out of the box I grimace and think to myself....."Leather??" this is vinyl Pleather at best no leather smell vinyl feel.....I examine it closer the zip covers pulled backed reveal man-made pleather and the filling is so cheap I am so dissapointed.....Tell me I am wrong but this is just plain cheap. Great Value Bicast Leather Chair

I wanted an inexpensive and durable office chair that might help with occasional backaches and sitting too long. This product did it. The vibrating massage is super relaxing and the ottoman has a detachable wire for the massage heads at the feet -- so you can unplug it and move it out of the way or plug it in put your feet up and massage your legs while you read mail. There are multiple massage options heat on or off and intensity setting. All great and comfortable. I loved the chair so much I bought a second one for my business partner and she loved it! Chair is not genuine leather but a composite which may have real leather. Very difficult to tell except for the fabric backing. Home sweet home for my backside

I've destroyed several other brands of recliners over the years and all of them deteriorate pretty quickly once I start "flopping" into them. I'm a big guy (6'1" 275) with arthritis in my knees and tend to "flop" into the chair with quite a bit of force. I've had this chair for over a year now. When I'm home this is where you'll find me. Very comfortable. Leather excellent. Frame very solid. Had one spring in the back let go but I was able to get in there and fix it fairly easily with hand tools. I don't think is too much of a flaw -- in fact kinda amazing actually that this chair takes my daily abuse without complaint other than this one little thing. Also the bottom of the chair is not covered with upholstery so when you drop your penknife or ballpoint or a pocketful of change it all ends up on the floor under the chair where you can easily retrieve it instead of being lost forever somewhere in the chair's innards. This is definitely the best recliner I've owned and the price was definitely right!



Edit (May 2010) - the frame and leather and stuffing are still holding up but the recliner mechanism finally broke. It didn't break per se just some of the metal pieces on the right underside became bent and the chair ended up lopsided. I contacted Ashley Furniture. There is a 5-year parts only warranty on the mechanism (1-year parts and labor). They sent me a new mechanism -- received in about 10 days. Fast! Took about an hour to disassemble the mechanism and install the new one but now my chair is almost as good as new. Going forward I think I'll try to be just a bit more careful putting the footrest DOWN because I think that's how I destroyed the 1st one.More detail ...

Read the dimensions carefully. This is the second rocking chair that I have bought. The first one was more comfortable but its seat was made up of springs fastened with large staples. They started coming loose during the first two weeks. I'm 5'7 and weigh 170. Yes I'm overweight. With this chair I have about 3 1/2" of space left. The length of the seat supports me only about half way up my thighs. The seat cushion I placed on it hangs 2 1/2" inches over the front of the seat. My back is not shaped like the back of the chair either. So I added a back cushion which just makes my legs hang over even more. I found out today that unless I exert a lot of effort the chair won't rock back. (I haven't been home in while.) What I'm saying is that manufacturers are doing a poor job of telling people what sizes their chairs will support. If you have short legs and a butt of no more than 36" and weigh no more than 150 then this might be your chair. It is beautiful but impractical for most people.More detail ...

Just got delivered a few days ago but so far we love it. The price was RIGHT!! All other "reclining" gliders were SO MUCH more expensive. This looks great inour bedroom reclines easily swivels and locks into place...Couldn't be happier...are hoping it will stand the test of time as our toddler girls seem to love it too!
